University of Puerto Rico - Río Piedras Campus
Welcome
to the Fact Book of the Río Piedras Campus, University
of Puerto Rico. The Fact Book's purpose is to provide
quantitative information on diverse aspects of the institution,
including statistics relating to students, academic offerings,
human resources, and finance, among others.
The Fact Book
is an official source of Campus statistical data. It is designed
to fulfill the needs of the university community for the processes
of decision-making, academic program evaluation, institutional
research, and the preparation of proposals, among others.
The Campus
adopted a set of official definitions to measure the different
dimensions and attributes of the quantitative data found in the
Fact Book. To facilitate the interpretation of this data, we have
included a glossary of terms. When necessary, definitions were
included as footnotes on tables and graphs.
The Statistical
Analysis Unit (UAE) of the Office of Academic Planning (OPA) collects
the information that is included in the Fact Book. The Fact Book
integrates information generated by a number of different offices
in the Campus such as the Budget, Finance and Registrar's offices.
It also includes data extracted from the Academic-Administrative
Management Support System (SAGA).
